Greetings, Watch Master of Watchtower Psi-Epsilon.
It is nice to see you have returned to your rightful place at Watchtower Psi-Epsilon. After your experience with the Necron last year, and the subsequent attempts by some of the High Lords of Terra to recend the Deathwatch’s chapter charter, it’s heartening to see our stalwart defenders back on the wall as the foul xenos attack us from all sides.
The hour is indeed dire as reports of Orks gaining strength pour in from the neighboring sectors. No one is sure what they are planning (or if the vile Greenskins are capable of such thinking), but is attracting attention from other xenos in the sector, as well as putting imperial worlds on edge. The entire situation is a powder keg, ready to be set off by the slightest spark…
Rally your battle-brothers, prepare the void ships, harden your souls for battle. The Greenskins are coming, and ill portents follow….
+++END TRANSMISSION+++
Battlefield: Altana-IV
After months of tension and build up, the fragile peace of the Altana-IV system has been pierced by the Greenskins call of WAAAGHH!
Nominally under Imperial control, the system of Altana-IV features many planets that are either unexplored or outright hostile to imperial rule. The shrine world of Altana Prime is firmly under Imperial control, but the planetary defense forces do not have the firepower nor the will to subjugate the remaining planets.
This has led to many different factions (Eldar pirate corsairs, Tau exploratory fleets, and the kin of the Leagues of Votann just to name a few) claiming parts or all of planets in the system for their own use.
This peculiar arrangement has held together due to mutual distrust of all parties, and the uncertainty of victory by any faction if all-out war was to erupt.
Now, as this balance is upset by the Ork advance, calls go out to all nearby forces pleading for help to protect this diverse coalition of planets and races.
Will you join the stalwart defenders of the system, despite their tolerance of nearby Xenos threats?
Will you join the battle on the side of the Ork raiders to cleanse the abomination from the Galaxy and sow further destruction?
Select your faction, fight over these diverse planets, and see what personal glory awaits your warlord!
When registering, you will be asked what army faction you are playing and which Pact faction you would like to join for the event.
These decisions are not hard locked, and can be changed closer to the event, we just ask now so we can plan for faction balance.
The two faction pacts for this event are as follows:
Pact of Protection: You intend to defend the system of Altana-IV from all attackers, greenskin or otherwise. This could be to defend the holy Imperial Shrine world, to protect your xenos allies, or simply to stop the greenskins from wiping out the planets so you can pursue your own goals in the future….
Pact of Desolation: You intend to raid and destroy as much of the system of Altana-IV as you can. This could be because you abhor the xenos in this system and want to administer the Emperor’s justice on those who tolerated the aliens and gave them a foothold, because you are just looking for a good fight, or because you have other aims and weakening the current inhabitants will allow you to advance those goals…
